About me
Electronics Engineer, with background in Industrial Automation, Robotics and in Distributed Embedded Systems, in both Industry and Academia. Served for 15 years at the University of Aveiro in the Department of Electronics and Communication, as a teacher and researcher. In 2007, left academia to work as General-Manager at Micro I/O, returning to the University of Aveiro in August 2010.

IEEE (needless to say to those in the field…) “is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.” I am a member since 1986, when I helped creating a group at the University of Aveiro that would latter become the University’s Student Branch.

- “Prémio Novas Fronteiras da Engenharia” (“New Frontiers on Engineering Award”): 1st prize for the paper “Mobile Robots as a Tool to Teach First Year Engineering Electronics”, published in ROBOT 2017: Third Iberian Robotics Conference, by Pedro Fonseca, Paulo Pedreiras and Filipe Silva. This prize distinguishes an article published in a national or international scientific journal or presented at a national or international scientific congress related to the Teaching of Engineering, authored by a professor or group of teachers from an Engineering School in the Central Region of Portugal.
