Stanley

I have a PhD in Informatics, focused on autonomous robotic vision. I currently work as a Post-doc Fellow at the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of University of Aveiro (IEETA), Portugal.

I am part of the Bioinformatics group @IEETA since 2017, where my work focuses on the analysis of social media as a mean for generating health related outcomes.

Projects to which I contribute:

The EMIF project was a five-year project during which time it developed common technical and governance solutions and improved access and use of European health data. To this aim, a common Information Framework (EMIF Catalogue) links up and facilitates access to diverse medical and research data sources.

A follow-on project, the IMI European Health Data and Evidence Network is now being developed by a consortium of 11 public and 12 EFPIA partners for five years. It focuses on a 'build, fuel and drive' strategy to develop an EU ecosystem for real world health research, supported by technology, engagement and outreach with data sources and data users

Smart Open Campus envisions the research and development of an ecosystem, centered at the University of Aveiro, where data are automatically gathered and integrated from multiple sources, from personal health to routine daily chores. It represents a practical platform for enabling and testing developments for the smart city and the assisted living society.

CAMBADA is the RoboCup Middle-Size League soccer team of the University of Aveiro. I have been an active member of the team during my PhD, when I worked on an autonomous robotic vision system that enabled the robots to recognize the field, obstacles and soccer ball.

VERY SHORT CV

I have a Bachelor Degree in Telecommunications from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania and a Master degree in Electronics and Informatics from the Unversity of Aveiro, Portugal. I concluded my PhD in 2016, with a thesis focused on the development of an autonomous vision system for robotic soccer players. In 2017 I joined the Bioinformatics research group @IEETA, where I am currently working on several projects focused on knowledge extraction and generation from large amounts of data.
