Situated
in the Province of the "Beira Litoral", is one of the biggest
"freguesias" of Ovar. With about 7500 inhabitants and 4690 voters, it
is extended for a vast 25.09 area of km2. It confines of the North in
Ovar, the South with Avanca and Pardilhó, of the East with S. Vicente
de Pereira and S. Martinho of the Gândara and the West with Ovar and
Ria de Aveiro. It belongs to the District of Aveiro and the Diocese of
the Port. Nº 109 is served by the E.N., for the Ovar-Pardilhó road, the
Road nº1 and the railway of the Line of the North.
At Valega
we found a famous
church covered with azulejo tile murals.
