António José do Nascimento Queimada

Born 16/09/1976, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo-Portugal

Graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Aveiro in 1999.

PhD in Chemical Engineering in 2004 from the universities of Aveiro and Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, Denmark.

 

Research interests:

 

-Measuring and modelling of thermophysical properties of pure substances and their mixtures.

-Surface chemistry

-Phase equilibria: Liquid-Vapour; Liquid-liquid; Solid-liquid;

-Applied thermodynamics.

-Chemical processes: optimization, cost reduction and sub-products valorization.

 

Scholarships and awards:

 

-July 2004-onwards

Pos-Doctoral scholarship from the "Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia" in the associated laboratory CICECO of the University of Aveiro-Portugal.

-September 1999-June 2000:

Research scholarship in chemical engineering within the project "Modelling the gelling and surface tension of heavy fuels", Praxis P/EQU/ 12010/1998.

-July 2000 - June 2004:

PhD scholarship from the "Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia" in chemical engineering. PhD done in the University of Aveiro-Portugal and the Danmarks Tekniske Universitet-Denmark.

-June 2003

Scholarship from the Foundation "Luso-Americana" for the participation in an international meeting in United States of America.

-September 2005

Scholarship from the Foundation "Calouste Gulbenkian" for the participation in an international meeting in Slovakia. 

 

Hobbies and other interests

Travelling, reading, walking and trekking, riding the bike, among others.
