§ September
1980 – June 1984: awarded by University of Bucharest (Romania) with four yearly scholarships to attend the courses of the Faculty of mathematics where obtained the Licentiate degree
in Mathematics;
§ July
1984: received the Sârghie Foundation
Award for Mathematics of the University of Bucharest, Romania;
§ May 1985: obtained by competition a
one-year Research
Fellowship for Foreign Mathematicians, from the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), to do research at University of Florence
(Italy) within the National Group of Functional Analysis and Applications (GNAFA)
directed by Professor Roberto Conti, during the period August 1986 - August 1987;
§ May 1987: has been admitted and get a
Fellowship
for Ph.D. studies from the
International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA-ISAS) in Trieste that spent in the period
October 1987-October 1990.
§ In 1990: having completed the PhD in
October 1990, have been awarded by SISSA-ISAS with a Postdoctoral fellowship
that spent in SISSA dring the period November
1990-Dezember 1991.
§ In
1991: competed and obtained a two-years Research Fellowship from the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste that
he spent from January 1992
to October 1993.
§ Competed and obtained from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation fellowships for the following short
visits: Springfield, Missouri, USA (May
1996); Tokyo, Japan (October 1997); Milan and Rome, Italy (September,
1999).
§ Competed and obtained from the Foundation for Science
and Technology (FCT) of Portugal the following fellowships: a 6 months Postdoctoral Fellowship
(February-July, 1999); a Sabbatical Fellowships (SFRH / BSAB / 240 /
2001) - for the academic year 2001/2002 (12 months); a Sabbatical
Fellowships (SFRH / BSAB / 794/2008 - for the academic year 2008/2009
(10 months); a Sabbatical Fellowships (SFRH/BSAB/113647/2015) - for the
academic year 20015/2006 (12 months).
§ In August 1997 has
been elected Member of
the New York Academy of Science.
§ In June 28, 1998 has
been elected a Full Member of
the American-Romanian Academy of Science and Arts (ARA);
§ Since June 2013 is a Member of the Board of
Directors of ARA.
§ Since September 2016 is Interim Vice-president of
the American-Romanian Academy of Science and Arts (ARA) and Member of the
Board of Directors of ARA.
§ In December 2021: obtained
by competition an international Invitational
Fellowships for Research in Japan (short-term), to do joint research with
Professor Goro Akagi, at the Mathematical
Institute of Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, during the period October 1-October
31, 2022.
§ In September 2022: obtained
from L'INdAM -Istituto
Nazionale di Alta Matematica "Francesco
Severi", a one month
Visiting Professor fellowship to teach a course for the Students of the PhD
School of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Cagliari, Italy,
during one month in 2023.
