Bio

Hey! My name is José Aniceto. I graduated in Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering at University of Porto (FEUP) and received my Ph.D., also in Chemical Engineering, from University of Aveiro (2018).

Currently, I am a Junior Researcher at CICECO in University of Aveiro working in the group of Professor Carlos Silva (EgiChem Group).

My main area of expertise is separation processes. Current research activities have been focused on continuous chromatography systems, namely Simulated Moving Bed technology, and supercritical fluid extraction. I have experience with the modeling and optimization of several processes, using phenomenological models, statistical techniques and numerical methods. In recent years I have also become interested in the application of machine learning in the field of chemical engineering, specially for property estimation.

I am also involved in the Master in Chemical Engineering course at University of Aveiro, where my teaching activities cover Multiphase Chemical Reactors and Process Synthesis and Optimization.
