During the last weeks the Vital Responder team has been present in the Vila Nova de Gaia Firefighters Trainings.

This trainings aim to improve their technique in order to better respond to extreme conditions they face in the field.

The exercises included:

  • Forest Fires Training
  • Car Accidents Training
  • Rescue from buildings and high places Training

This cooperation is giving us a lot of data that will be of great value to our research. Understanding the way the firefighters behavior while in action is very important to achieve new advances in VR project. Below you can see a few pictures of the firefighters in action.

Vital Responder project was present at the CMU Annual Meeting held in Lisbon last June 14th.

A very good media Impact was achieved by Vital Responder Project. It had National TV coverage and some good newspaper articles such as the one present in the section "contents" of this website.

Fausto Vieira, Luis Meireles and José Maria Fernandes also did oral presentations to all the CMU community.

Apart from this, VR was awarded with the prize for the Best Demo. All CMU-Pt program students voted and elected Vital Responder as the best demo present in the event.

We've also received the visit of the Secretary of State, Prof. Manuel Heitor, to our Demo.
