Short biography

António J. S. Teixeira  was born in Paredes, Portugal, in September 1968. He received the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering degree, in 1991; the Master degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, in 1993 and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, in 2000,  from the University of Aveiro.

Currently, he is an Auxiliary Professor at the Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics of the University of Aveiro, and a researcher at the Signal Processing Laboratory of the Institute of Electronics and Telematics Engineering of Aveiro - IEETA.  He is Coordinator of the Master in Speech and Hearing Sciences. 

In September 2008 will organize PROPOR 2008 (www.propor2008.org), The International Conference on Computational Processing of Portuguese.  

His main research activity is in the area of Speech Processing. He also has interests in other areas of research such as Human-Machine Interaction, Phonetics.
